Christopher D. Smithers Foundation



Background
Christopher Smithers was a founder of IBM. His son, R. Brinkley Smithers, poured much of his inheritance into the foundation, and was a driving force behind federal alcohol policy. "Brink" Smithers' money helped to create the National Council on Alcohol.
