Overview
Logo not available American Corn Growers Association
In December 1999 the American Corn Growers Association endorsed a legal action brought by a group of anti-technology organizations, including a Fairfield, Iowa group called the Alliance for Bio-Integrity. This latter outfit is controlled by followers of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, whose teachings also inspired Mothers for Natural Law. In addition, two Maharishi-oriented entities (the Natural Law Party and the Maharishi University of Management) are members of the “Bolinas Group,” a coalition to which the American Corn Growers Association also belongs. The Bolinas Group is a consortium of environmental and anti-technology groups, working together to cripple food technology by lobbying governments for “warning” labels designed to scare consumers. Bolinas group members also have access to millions in funding via members of the Environmental Grantmakers Association.

Center for Food Safety Center for Food Safety
In 1996 the Center for Food Safety’s Andrew Kimbrell co-founded an anti-food-technology organization called the Alliance for Bio-Integrity. This organization and Mothers for Natural Law (M4NL) are both ideologically related to the “natural law” movement of the Indian spiritualist (and multi-billionaire) Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Like the Maharishi’s North American empire, both M4NL and the Alliance for Bio-Integrity are based in Fairfield, Iowa.

Chefs Collaborative Chefs Collaborative
Chefs Collaborative was an institutional sponsor of a 1999 petition drive run by Mothers for Natural Law, a radical organization affiliated with the cultish empire of Indian mystic Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The effort sought to gather 1 million signatures in support of the mandatory labeling of genetically improved foods, but fell considerably short.

EarthSave International EarthSave International
In 1999, Mothers for Natural Law delivered petitions with 500,000 signatures to Congress, asking for a moratorium on the production of genetically improved foods. PCRM and EarthSave were both institutional sponsors of this effort.

Logo not available Foundation on Economic Trends
Mothers for Natural Law, an arm of the organic-only cult of the Indian mystic known as the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, sponsored the Foundation on Economic Trends' (FOET) Treaty Initiative to Share the Genetic Commons, and signed, along with FOET president Jeremy Rifkin and many others, the Pacific Declaration against genetically enhanced foods.

In 1999, Mothers for Natural Law delivered petitions with 500,000 signatures to Congress, asking for a moratorium on the production of genetically improved foods. PCRM and EarthSave were both institutional sponsors of this effort.

Logo not available Sierra Club
In 1999 the Sierra Club and Mothers for Natural Law teamed up with other anti-biotech activists to petition the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to require labels on all genetically enhanced food products.

Union of Concerned Scientists Union of Concerned Scientists
Besides the Union of Concerned Scientists, Mothers for Natural Law stands out as the most absurdly named member of the Genetic Engineering Action Network. When “concerned scientists” team up with “mothers for” something, you know you’re dealing with some serious busybodies.
