Center for Food Safety
Center for Food Safety (CFS) president Andrew Kimbrell and legal director Joseph Mendelson are both on the board of the Turning Point project. Kimbrell is generally credited for being the driving force behind Turning Point’s 1999-2000 ad campaign. In addition, the International Center for Technology Assessment (CFS’ parent group) gets the vast majority of its funding from the Foundation for Deep Ecology, the same quasi-religious environmental fund that has bankrolled over 95% of Turning Point’s activity thus far. ICTA was also listed as a Turning Point “coalition” group.

Center for Media & Democracy
Left-wing flacks John Stauber and Sheldon Rampton made sure that their Center for Media & Democracy (CMD) was among the first groups listed as Turning Point Project “coalition organizations.” Little wonder, as Turning Point board member Joe Mendelson also sits on CMD’s board. CMD’s name appeared on all four Turning Point ads devoted to trashing technological progress -- a curious choice, considering that Rampton and Stauber use the Internet exclusively to run their propaganda machine.

EarthSave International
EarthSave is among the 108 organizations listed as Turning Point Project “coalition” groups, but there’s no evidence to suggest that any of EarthSave’s money (nor that of any of the other “coalition” groups) went into Turning Point’s advertising.

Foundation on Economic Trends
Former Foundation on Economic Trends (FOET) staffer and Center for Food Safety director Andrew Kimbrell is currently the president of the Turning Point Project. Joseph Mendelson, another former FOET staffer, is on Turning Point's board.

Greenpeace
Greenpeace is among the three or four richest environmental groups to be included in Turning Point’s “coalition,” lending its name to Turning Point’s “species extinction” series.

Humane Society of the United States
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) signed on to a series of newspaper ads organized by the Turning Point Project. HSUS was listed as a sponsoring organization, for example, on ads arguing that “modern agriculture is in crisis.” Former HSUS veterinarian Melanie Adcock has also been an employee of the Foundation for Deep Ecology, the radical grantmaker that bankrolled the Turning Point ads.

Organic Consumers Association
The name “Organic Consumers Association” (OCA) showed up in several Turning Point advertisements (mostly those concerning “industrial agriculture”). This is not surprising, considering that OCA used to be a pet project of Turning Point leader Andrew Kimbrell -- before it was spun off and entrusted to Minnesotan Ronnie Cummins. Both Kimbrell and Cummins had the same mentor in rabid anti-technology commentator Jeremy Rifkin (of the Foundation on Economic Trends).
